Paris guided tours

I lead skip-the-line family tours to the main sites, off the beaten track, inside museums, galleries and sites and outside in the open air.

I love bringing families to neighbourhoods that are not part of the usual tourist route.

I tell about the history of Paris and France, but I also give all sorts of details concerning french culture and everyday life.

All tours are tailor made, based on the ages of the children, what the family wants to see and do, and of course the time of year.

All itineraries are fully flexible.

Whether you want to walk, have a chauffeur, take public transport or a mix of everything… I can arrange it for you.

An unusual, fun and engaging way to discover Paris!

Good to know…

  • Tap water is good in Paris. Bring water bottles to fill, don’t waste money on expensive mineral water!
  • The Parisians are very friendly and helpful, particularly when travelling with kids. Yes, believe me, it is a myth that the French don’t like tourists. Smile and say « Bonjour »!
  • Paris is not a large city. It is easy to walk around. The best way to discover the city is on foot.

Louvre museum

  • The Louvre is closed on Tuesdays.
  • In high season the Louvre is very crowded every Monday morning. Worse time with kids!
  • The Louvre opens late on Wednesdays and Fridays, less crowded. Nice to plan a tour at 5:00pm.

Orsay museum

  • The Orsay museum is closed on Mondays.
  • In high season the Orsay is very crowded every Tuesday morning. Worse time with kids!
  • No guided tours allowed at Orsay on Sundays.

Versailles

  • Versailles is closed on Mondays.
  • In high season Versailles is very crowded on Tuesdays. Worse time with kids!
  • The best time to visit the palace with kids is in the afternoon from Wednesday to Sunday.
  • I do not recommend visiting the palace with kids under 8. Not adapted.
  • The only way to skip lines at Versailles is on a guided tour. Tickets you buy online and Paris Museum Passes are not skip-the-line.

Notre Dame

  • In high season the only way to beat the crowds is to go before 9:30am.
  • Notre Dame Cathedral is free, no VIP access.
  • Separate entrance to the Bell Towers. Admission fee. 422 steps. No lift.

Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is privately run. I recommend you get tickets ahead on the official website: http://ticket.toureiffel.fr/?langue=en.
